Helping children to learn and grow isn't always easy. Yet one of the most simple and effective things you can do is to simply praise what you child does well. So often we criticize - usually in an attempt to improve the child's behavior. But in fact, it is almost always more effective, pleasant and simple to just praise something your child has done well. Example - depending on the age of the child, made her bed - got dressed by herself, did her homework, brought his dishes to the sink after dinner, helped carry in the groceries, combed his hair in a slightly less outrageous style, etc. You may find that the actions you notice and comment favorably on will continue. It's an easy way to show your love. For more ideas on how to help your children, click here.
